Dr. Abdul Fattah

Dr. Fattah is currently a member of the Toronto Board of Health. Prior to this, he was a member of the  Scarborough Local Health Committee, an advisory group to the Toronto Board of Health, for four years. Trained as a physician in Bangladesh with a doctorate in Public Health from Shinshu University in Nagano, Japan, Abdul is also presently working as a research consultant in the areas of assessment of risk factors of Parkinson’s Disease (PD) among ethnic groups, visual hallucinations, anxiety, dementia, tremors and nocturia in PD patients at Parkinson’s Clinic of Eastern Toronto and Movement Disorder Centre.  

From 2008 to 2009, he was a Research Fellow/Consultant with the Public Health Agency of Canada and from 2003 to 2005, he was an Epidemiologist-Surveillance and Outbreak Management at the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.  An experienced public health practitioner in the field of cancer and chronic diseases prevention, Abdul has been published in more than 25 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and 6 project reports at national and international levels.
